Nils Lofgren, currently on tour with the E-Street Band received his Knaggs Severn T2 in Golden Natural on Monday, April 9 and apparently fell in love with it at first sight, using the guitar the same night at their show at Madison Square Garden in NYC. The Severn will be touring with Nils on E-Street for the rest of the 2012 World Tour . The instrument features a double cutaway Alder body with a Maple top capped in Mahogany, set figured Rock Maple neck, Cocobolo finger board with Dot inlays, proprietary Knaggs Tremolo and Wenge pick-guard with three OBL pick-ups. More pictures and info to come soon! Special Thanks to Jon Gosnell, Roy Witte and Andy Fuchs!

Stuart’s guitar is a beautiful Keya T1 in Ocean Blue with sea shell finger board inlays and a sea horse on the head stock. The instrument features an exceptional quilted maple top on Mahogany back, 2 volume and tone controls with push-pull option to tap the Fralin True PAF humbuckers for single coil sounds. It is stringed with Stuart’s favorite gauge 12 – 56.

Stuart Fraser is one of Australia’s most influential and well known guitar players who has been recording and touring with John Farnham (the voice), Olivia Newton-John and his own Band Noiseworks, featuring one of Australia’s best singers, Jon Stevens. Peter met Stuart in Sydney in 1998 during a series of clinics and they became friends and stayed in touch over the years.

We are excited to have built the first instrument for our friend Stuart as Noiseworks are preparing to record their new album in Sydney in the coming weeks. We will post more pictures and hopefully sound clips as soon as we can. Please check out Stuart’s work on Wikepedia, YouTube and other community pages.

Welcome to the Knaggs family Stuart and Sabina Fraser!

Just in from Stuart Fraser in Australia … talking about his Keya T1 in Ocean Blue:

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!
This guitar is absolutely stunning, it feels fantastic (so light), it looks unbelievable and the sound…WOW.
The bridge design is wonderful, it resonates the whole guitar incredibly well.
The pick-ups you suggested have such a unique voice, unlike any other guitar that I have heard. Splitting to single coil they really shimmer. Humbucker mode has a midrange honk that is pure AC/DC…LOVE IT. Having the ability to split pickups individually offers an extremely wide tonal palette.
The overall finish on the guitar, the quality of the wood, frets and fret board, chunky neck, machine heads, logo, Sea Horse and shell inlays is exquisite.
I’m in love.

“This one is #146, but it’s nearly identical to the one I was relieved of, aside from the Rio Grande BBQ in the bridge. It’s only a Tier 3, but it’s still got a Nitro finish, flawless construction, a proprietary bridge, an “Orkie” setup, etc etc etc, and loaded up with 11′s, she’s a fuggin rocker! If you haven’t tried a Knaggs guitar, you really should…

Mick Hayes is the quintessential young front man the music industry was built on. With his sharp dressed attitude and his “born lucky” charm, Mick is sculpting the sound of Contemporary Blues and R&B today with powerful vocals and extraordinary guitar playing. Mick holds the homegrown skills that pass through all of the Blues sub-categories in one show.

Mick has preformed in front of huge crowds numbering in the upper 20,000’s and opened for bands such as The Doobie Brothers, Peter Fampton, Dickie Betts, Los Lonely Boys, Dave Mason, Robin Trower, Cheap Trick, Duke Robillard and many more. Mick has shared the stage alongside the industries finest including: Gary Mallaber, Michael Burkes, Tony Galla, Smokin Joe Kubek, Joe Bonamassa, Will McFarlane and several more.

In 2011 Mick Hayes had the honor of returning home to be inducted into the “Buffalo Music Hall of Achievement” as a solo artist, and also for the work he has done with his band. He added these awards alongside the many others that are now all part of an extensive list of career accomplishments he has obtained over a short period of time.

Mick Hayes (Photo: © Dave Jarosz)

Alongside of being a nationally published writer, Mick’s unmatched voice can be heard on a number of regional Radio and Television commercials.

In summer 2012 Mick Hayes began proudly endorsing Fuchs Audio Technology and Plush FX which quickly turned into a great opportunity opening for Cheap Trick because Rick Nielsen is also an endorser. Mick is playing their flagship amplifier ‘The Overdrive Supreme’. Mick Hayes was chosen to be a representing artist for Fuchs at this year’s NAMM show 2012. In addition to this, Mick was selected by the board at NAMM to perform on stage for the musician filled Anaheim Civic Center.

Currently Mick is home in Buffalo, NY in celebration over being recently married and the release of the long awaited solo album Recovery that was three years in the making. The Mick Hayes Band is planning & routing a northeast tour schedule starting in spring-fall 2012 in support of their recent endorsements and new CD release. They will be recording a series of live shows at festivals and seated venues for DVD to be released in 2013.

Mick Hayes is the top class, hard working, entertaining front man that continues to influence the music scene all over the Nation. His lively guitar playing and liquid vocals create a bigger fan base at the end of every song and strike of every note.

We are happy Mick has chosen a Kenai T2 in Hickoryburst to express his musicality and chops on stage and in the studio.

I brought my Zoom Q3HD to the studio the other for the session hoping to get some good video. Although it was a pretty busy session, I was able to get some decent stuff before and in-between takes when the producer was setting other things up and getting the sound right. Hope you enjoy the clips.

The guitar in the video is the Knaggs Guitars Choptank. It’s a fantastic guitar for many many reason, as I’m sure you will see. It’s just such a fluid instrument with so many possibilities from clean tones with jangle to over-driven sounds with bite and growl. Perfect for country, rock, jazz, etc… and for these particular gospel sessions, it REALLY shines bright. I suggest you check them out because Knaggs Guitars are on the rise and will soon be a very VERY sought after product. -Ben
